Description

My yoga journey started with asana and specifically power vinyasa. At 18 with a competitive spirit, I was attracted to the challenging shapes like arm balances and inversions and left no time for savasana. Through time, the practice became mental and I began to be able to cope better with stress, anxiety and asthma. My mat was a space where I learned about ahimsa (non-harm) started to heal from a history of eating disorders and obsessive exercise, embodying radical self-love. Still this practice evolved allowing me to experience God in a whole new way. Today, my yoga practice includes much more than movement. Yoga is a lifestyle and my aim is to share this gift with my students. In my asana classes, you can expect movement, breathing, concentration, meditation, and lots of self-study. Over the last decade of continued training & experience in various settings with an array of lifestyles and ages, I have developed the skill to intelligently sequence on the class on the spot based on the needs of my students. My classes will both provide alignment and functional shapes according to the individual. They will be breath centric and encourage creative adaptations. You can think of me as a guide who can offer modifications, layers, and the use of props to support you as you learn to follow your intuition & honor your body. Expect for me to skip the surface level talk & get into the deep real life meaningful work!
