Description
Karen took her first Yoga class in 2002 and is the first to admit she found the physical practice first. Yoga has become an ongoing journey for her into grounding, centering and moving into a place of greater compassion. Yoga has been transforming on all levels for her, and she continues to study and practice for herself, and to share the gift of Yoga with others.
Karen earned her E-RYT500 through Yogafit and began teaching in 2005. She has studied and been influenced by many different teachers, particularly; Doug Keller, Cyndi Lee, Anand Mehrohtra, Judith Lasater, and Michael Stone. Her classes are alignment-based with special attention to the breath, and moving into mental awareness. She infuses her slow, free flow style classes with strength work, and attention to stabilization of the joints during deep stretch. Teaching Yoga to others is a humbling experience and she considers herself always the student first and the teacher second.
