Camel Pose
Ustrasana is a deep backward-bending posture performed from a kneeling position. The word "Ushtra" means camel in Sanskrit, and the final shape of the pose resembles the arched back of a camel. It helps in opening the chest, stretching the entire front body, and improving spinal flexibility.

2. Counterposes (To Neutralize the Spine):
3. Strengthening & Stabilizing Asanas:
1. Bhujangasana, 2. Dhanurasana, 3. Setu Bandhasana, 4. Chakrasana, 5. Matsyasana, 6. Anjaneyasana
1. Backbend with Chest Expansion – Ushtrasana is a deep backbend that promotes spinal flexibility while opening the chest, heart center, and shoulders.
2. Requires Strong Thigh and Core Engagement – Keep thighs perpendicular to the floor, hips aligned, and engage the core to support the lower back and avoid collapsing.
3. Breath Awareness is Essential – Inhale while lifting the chest; maintain smooth, deep breathing throughout to enhance lung capacity and relaxation.
4. Neck and Head Position is Optional – The head can remain neutral or gently fall back, depending on comfort and neck strength—never force the head back.
5. Best Practiced After Warm-Ups or Mild Backbends – Ideal to follow preparatory poses like Bhujangasana, Setu Bandhasana, or Anjaneyasana to safely deepen the bend.
