Rechak Pranayama (रेचक)
Prolonged Exhalation
Rechak is the process of exhalation, where you release air from the lungs in a controlled and deliberate manner. In yogic practices, Rechak is considered crucial as it helps in cleansing the body, removing toxins, and calming the mind. The practice of Rechak, when done correctly, aids in balancing the prāṇic energy in the body, allowing for a calm and centered mind.
Exhalation (Rechak) is typically practiced in conjunction with inhalation (Purak) and retention (Kumbhak), creating a balanced breathing cycle. Rechak can be practiced either in a normal fashion or through specific breathing techniques such as Ujjayi Pranayama, Nadi Shodhana, or Kapalbhati, where the exhalation is emphasized.
