Description
JULIA discovered yoga's transformative benefits at age 17 when she picked up a book by Richard Hittleman and practiced from the text in the backyard of her family's home in Southwest Florida. Yoga remained a quiet and constant presence until life's inevitable stresses, aches, and pains, led her back to the mat in 2005 in search of relief and balance. It proved, once again, to be a transformative and stabilizing practice. Julia continued her yoga practice through breast cancer treatment in 2009 and credited the approach to helping her through the treatment and recovery.
In 2014, Julia enrolled in yoga teacher training with We Are One Flow, Reno. This training ignited Julia's interest in the study of yoga therapy. In 2015 this interest led her to study at Yoga Tree San Francisco under Harvey Deutch and other excellent teachers. In 2016 she completed the 500-hour Yoga Alliance recognized.
