Description

Kind Yoga stands in solidarity with Black communities and the Black Lives Matter movement. Yoga means union and the practice of yogic principles helps people to connect to their true self and inner peace. Many people of color are stopped by systemic racism and are unable to live in peace due to long standing oppressive power structures. One of yoga’s core ethics is ‘Ahimsa’, ‘non-harm’ to practice non-violence to all beings in word, deed and thought, to be aware of how our behavior affects the world around us, and to live our lives with compassion. Kind yoga has always been inclusive, and socially active, people of many colors and orientations have completed our programs and taught us so much. We are listening, learning more each day, speaking up, and taking action. To be silent is to be complicit. Speaking up against violence and injustice is yoga.
