Description
Hello, I'm Ylonda Rosenthal-Greene. In addition to being a wife and a mother to three beautiful children, I'm also a classically trained cellist and yoga teacher. My 20+ year career as a performing musician started as a teen. First by attending Chautauqua Summer Music Institute, followed by a BA from Cleveland State University, which lead to several more years of study with members of the Cleveland Orchestra. In 2002, after having my first child, I was able to continue with my passion for music and worked as a private cello teacher.
In 2009, after the birth of my third child, my best friend asked me to go to a yoga class with her. I had never taken a class before. In fact, the last time I had been physically active was in middle school! I thought “YES! It will be quiet, calm and I can sleep on a yoga mat for an hour without someone screaming MOMMY.” The reality is, it was one of the hardest things I'd EVER done. My body shook and sweat and struggled, but I was hooked. That hour of class provided me time for a little, much needed, self love. From that very first class, I knew I wanted to teach. It didn't take long for me to realize that yoga moved me in the same profound way as music. After one year, I enrolled in my first 200 Hour teacher training, followed shortly after by 300 and 500 Hour trainings.
