Description
After a shoulder injury during a home self-practice several years ago, a physical therapist helped reduced my discomfort to a manageable level after five months of working together twice a week. At that point, I had already been a yoga teacher for many years, and with my previous career as a professional modern dancer, I did have a more profound knowledge of the body.
However, I continued to have low-grade pain that lasted years, and I did not have the tools to help manage this discomfort. So I went in search of them. Since then, I have learned that the living body does not follow textbook definitions of which treatments to use for specific injuries. 1 + 2 does not always equal 3 when working with the living body. We are each unique, and there is still so much more to learn as research continues to reveal more information each year.
My journey led me to appreciate the resilience of the human body and its innate ability to move toward healing when given nourishment doses.
