DR. AMY BANTER ATTENDED IU SCHOOL OF MEDICINE, COMPLETING A FAMILY MEDICINE RESIDENCY IN 1998. SHE THEN WORKED FOR NINE YEARS AS ASSOCIATE FAMILY MEDICINE RESIDENCY DIRECTOR AT BALL MEMORIAL HOSPITAL AND ADJUNCT PROFESSOR AT IU SCHOOL OF MEDICINE AS WELL AS BALL STATE UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF PHYSIOLOGY AND HEALTH SCIENCES. WHILE THERE, SHE HELPED IMPLEMENT PATIENT EDUCATION AND COMPLEMENTARY AND ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE CURRICULUM INTO THE RESIDENCY PROGRAM. SHE THEN PURSUED HER TRUE PASSION OF HOLISTIC HEALTH AND WELLNESS, OPENING A PRIVATE INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE PRACTICE AND A WELLNESS CENTER INCORPORATING NUTRITION, YOGA, MEDITATION, MASSAGE AND OTHER MODALITIES. SHE RECEIVED HER 200-HOUR REGISTERED YOGA TEACHER CERTIFICATION (RYT) WITH YOGA ALLIANCE. DR. BANTER ALSO HAS A STRONG INTEREST IN MEDICAL RESEARCH AND HAS PARTICIPATED IN PROGRAMS UTILIZING YOGA, MASSAGE, TIBETAN MEDICINE AND OTHER COMPLEMENTARY MODALITIES.
