Description
The word Ayurveda stands for Knowledge of life. Its antiquity is not the only reason for its authenticity. It is a classical medical science where the texts are documentary evidence of clinical observations accomplished by logical discussions and experiences.
The eight branches of Ayurveda- kaya, baala, graha, urdhva, shalya, damstra, jara, vrusha. As a medical practitioner I would highlight the uniqueness of Ayurveda- its syndromic approach. Multiplicity of diseases is posing a huge challenge to disease decoding process at present. The basic understanding of disease is imbalance in the three bioenergies. Bioenergies are born out of combination of the five elements with variations in their attributes. Disease pathway assessment and cause recognition forms the primary step forward and guna-karma understanding forms the core of management.
