Description
There was never a time when I wasn’t inquisitive about nature and the workings of life. As a young teen, I remember escaping into the woods to read books on philosophy, searching for the words that would explain some of the profound experiences I had as a young child. While working my way through undergraduate school to become an educator, I studied how various herbs, foods and practices could affect the mind and the body. I remember influencing my college roommate on the benefits of eating unprocessed foods and helping my boyfriend’s dad overcome a debilitating condition through a radical diet shift. During college, I would take advantage of side courses (now called workshops) on things like alternative forms of energy. I also loved studying anthropology and psychology. During the first two years of college, I even had a huge garden where I would plant, grow, and harvest vegetables. Another practice I was interested in pursuing was yoga.
