Rita enriched her practice further and, in 1995, began the 3-year intensive teacher training at the Iyengar Yoga Center of La Mesa. A trip to Pune India soon followed her certification completion in 1998 to study and celebrate the 80th birthday celebration of yoga Guru B.K.S. Iyengar.
While in Pune, it was an unforgettable exposure to Ayurveda's healing art with the Iyengar family that inspired her to become a Clinical Ayurvedic and Pancha Karma Specialist. After moving to San Francisco in 1998, she began teaching weekly yoga classes while continuing her studies. In 2001, she was awarded dual certification from the California College of Ayurvedic Medicine and The Vedic Institute of New Mexico.
