Steps and Description
  • Stand erect with the feet about a metre apart.
  • Stretch the arms sideways and bend to the right, while bringing the left leg upwards taking care not to bring the body forward.
  • Place the right hand on the right foot, keeping the two arms in line with each other.
  • Look up at the left hand in the final position. Return to the upright position with the arms in a straight line.
  • Repeat on the opposite side, bringing the right leg upward.
Practice Keynotes
  • Don't bring the weight on your hand touching the ground.
  • Keep your straight and stretched.
Cautions and Limitations
  • Avoid this practice if you are suffering from any back pain.
  • Go gently into the final position.
  • Avoid facial contortions and excessive shaking of the body.
  • Proceed carefully and only under expert guidance.
  • At the slightest sign of discomfort, reduce the duration of practice and, if necessary, discontinue the practice for the day.
  • Practice should never be rushed.
